Caraway fruits, commonly (erroneously) called seeds, are crescent-shaped achenes, around 2 mm long with five pale ridges. Often confused with Cumin. Caraway seeds are highly aromatic and have a distinctive mild anise flavour that adds a welcome and subtle licorice hint to many dishes.
