Ingredients

3 Tbsp Oil
3kg Beef/Lamb Cubes
100ml Tube To9 Potjiekos Spice (Find at https://www.to9herbandspice.co.za/product-page/south-african-potjiekos)
1 tsp Salt (or per taste)
2 Onions, chopped (keep skins)
8 Offcuts on the side
6 Medium Carrots (cut into chunks)
9 Small Potatoes, whole
3 Ripe Tomatoes, peeled and cut
1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
6 Baby Yellow Button Marrows
100g Baby Corn

Recipe Method
Boil water with half an onion and all the offcuts in the cast iron pot to clean and remove the metallic taste.
Discard the dirty water.
Brown the meat in oil over high heat.
Add onions and braai until soft.
Add salt, spice, 1 carrot, tomatoes, soy sauce, and enough water to cover the meat. Close the lid and simmer for 2 hours, adding water if needed.
Arrange the carrots and potatoes on top in layers. Close the lid and simmer for about 30 minutes or until the potatoes are almost soft.
Do not stir.
Add the rest of the vegetables and simmer for another 15–20 minutes.
